Terroir

The Domaine des Anges is a small, beautiful vineyard situated at 350 meters on a hillside across the valley from Mont Ventoux, the Giant of Provence. It benefits from altitude, a variety of soils ranging from calcareous clays to rich stony ferrous, the position of its vineyards and cooling evening breezes in summer.

The vineyard is situated on eastward facing slope of calcareous clay at an altitude of 350 meters, from a single young block. It benefits from cool evening breezes, which help to preserve the freshness and acidity in the wine.

Made respecting traditions, going back to Roman times, and nature, through the use of organic practices, which, blended with care and experience, come together in a wine we believe will exceed your expectations.

Vinification

The grapes are picked early in the morning to when it is cool to ensure that they delivered to the winery in the very best condition. After crushing, destemming, and gentle pressing, the juice is settled for 48 hours. After racking, the juices are fermented separately at temperatures of 12°C in stainless steel tanks (75%) and barrels (25%). The fermentation can last up to two months lending both fruitness and elegance to the wine. After blending, the wines are bottled in early spring conserving their freshness.

Tasting notes

Colour: Bright yellow with intense green lights.

Nose: Complex, expressive and true to type with some hints of box hedge, exotic fruits and tinned apricots finishing with the aroma of orange blossom.

Palate: Rich and fleshy, nicely balanced on the palate between richness and freshness. Once again there is a taste of exotic fruit, apricots and citrus fruits, giving an all-over impression of multi-faceted flavour and freshness.

Cellaring: Excellent drunk young, but will become increasingly honeyed with time.
